Facts on Common Developmental Conditions
Children with ADHD/ADD often present with hyperactivity, inattentiveness and weak impulse control. The symptoms will improve with medication and behavioural modification training.
Children with ASD often have weakly integrated eye contact, low communication intention, language impairment, as well as rigid cognition. They may demonstrate repetitive sensory-craving behaviour. The symptoms will improve with Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), speech therapy and sensory integration training.
Since symptoms of neurodevelopmental conditions often overlap and co-morbid, your child will need a developmental assessment as early as possible in order to plan the tailor-made intervention.
